The first is consumable; the second is an asset. A simple test: in six months, will anyone still read or use this?

Platform content is easily buried by timelines, and it lives under someone else’s rules and algorithm. Content under your own domain has stable links and can be searched, referenced, and redistributed.
That is one core value of a personal website: it becomes your own content index and trust homepage. Platform accounts can be throttled, banned, or have their rules changed — your domain’s index stays yours.
Update Around Consistent Topics
Content assets do not come from volume alone; they come from topic consistency. If you write about AI this week, money next week, and travel after that, readers can’t form a clear picture of you, and search engines can’t tell what you’re expert in.
Choose 3 to 5 pillars and publish around them consistently. Focus has a bonus: pieces can reference each other and form a network, instead of a pile of isolated pages.
Make One Piece Produce Value Many Times
Real “reuse” means one core piece spawns several forms:
- A deep article can be cut into several short social posts
- A few related articles can merge into a guide or ebook
- A project review is a case, an article, and the basis for a service description
Write the “parent” piece well first, then branch out — far more efficient than producing from scratch on every platform.
Let Each Piece Serve a Goal
